1. What will treatment be like? What will my day consist of?
The Partial Hospitalization Program at Banyan Treatment Centers offers a 360-approach to drug and alcohol treatment. We understand that effective treatment goes beyond the classic therapeutic setting and we provide a range of activities, so that patients can begin to heal both their minds and bodies. A typical day consists of 8 hours of therapeutic programming, in which patients participate in group therapy, gender specific groups, as well as art therapy and individual sessions with members of the clinical team. Patients are encouraged to participate in yoga and meditation, and chiropractic and acupuncture services are available on site. Beginning at 4pm, when the clinical day is over, patients have the option to partake in recreational activities that include going to the gym, beach and the park. Food shopping takes place on the weekends, and patients are provided with a gift card to purchase their own food and cook for themselves during the week. This is important for patients to assimilate back into a normal routine and learn activities of daily living (ADLS) in sobriety. Patients may attend services at a local church as well as outside 12 step meetings within the community. All transportation to and from activities, outside meetings, therapeutic programming and housing is provided.
2. How long will I be at Banyan Treatment Centers' Partial Hospitalization Program?
Our drug and alcohol treatment programs are individualized to fit each patient’s unique needs. While the typical length of stay at Banyan Treatment Center’s Partial Hospitalization Program is 30-45 days, patients will meet with the clinical team to decide the best route for them as an individual. 4. Banyan Treatment Center is located far away from my hometown. Why is this beneficial to my addiction recovery?
We know it can be hard to be far away from home during such a difficult time. You may have heard the term “people, places and things” when discussing addiction recovery. Oftentimes, those suffering from drug and alcohol addiction require separation from those people, places and things in order to regain some mental clarity without distractions or influences. The Partial Hospitalization Program at Banyan Treatment Centers is designed to help patients form new healthy habits and lifestyles, and that may be more difficult for you if you remain in the environment you have been drinking/using in. Some time away can help you begin to heal.
5. What about my job?
When seeking help for drug and alcohol addiction, many people fear the repercussions they could face in the workplace. Many are afraid of being fired, or are concerned about what bosses and coworkers will think once they find out that they are entering treatment. However, there are laws in place to protect those who are seeking help for drug and alcohol addiction. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal law that applies to all organizations with 15+ employees and protects patients from termination resulting from absences due to participation in a drug and alcohol treatment program. Employers are also required by law to maintain confidentiality regarding any information pertaining to an employee’s drug and alcohol treatment process.
Here at Banyan Treatment Centers, we understand that choosing to enter drug and alcohol treatment is a big decision. We want to alleviate as much of the stress that comes with that decision as we can, and help ensure that admission into our Partial Hospitalization Program goes as smoothly as possible.
