12-Step Programs
The founders of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) created the 12-step program to help people complete the various stages of recovery. AA founders believed that recovery from addiction could only be achieved by completing each of the 12 steps.
During our 12 step program, patients work with counselors to complete the 12 steps, which are centered on accepting the need for change, surrendering to a Higher Power, and reconciling with loved ones who have been impacted by their addiction. Although the 12-step method was originally designed to help individuals with alcohol use disorders, it’s proven to be so effective in the treatment of addiction that it’s been expanded to help people with all kinds of substance use disorders.
Aftercare
At Banyan Treatment Centers, addiction recovery doesn’t end with treatment; we offer continuous support long after our patients have completed their programs. Our licensed professionals develop individualized and effective aftercare plans, including housing arrangements, support groups, and continued care with expert providers. Our comprehensive aftercare includes therapy sessions and support groups to prioritize sobriety, particularly during the challenging initial stages of recovery. After completing our programs, patients become part of the Banyan recovery family, always having a place in our community.
Alumni Program
Among our unique rehab programs at Banyan is our alumni program. This is a program designed for patients who have completed treatment programs at our facility – or “graduated”, so to speak – and are interested in continual support after rehab.
Sobriety is an ongoing journey and daily decision, so we believe it’s important for patients to have the option to continue working with our counselors to ensure that they stay on track after rehab. Patients in this program will have access to our professionals and the opportunity to receive counseling in group settings to promote peer support and community while learning new relapse-prevention tactics.

These services aim to help first responders overcome substance abuse and mental health issues by providing individualized care tailored to their specific needs, fostering recovery through both personal and peer support.
Intervention Services
Denial is common among people with substance use disorders, so much so that loved ones often have to intervene for the sake of the individual’s health and recovery. An intervention is a meeting in which the friends, family, and spouses of addicts get together to confront the individual about their addiction.
They may speak of how they’ve been personally impacted and even list the consequences of not accepting treatment. There are various types of interventions, some more intense than others, depending on the severity of the person’s condition. An addiction intervention can be a challenge to organize and emotionally draining, which is why we offer intervention services at our drug rehab. Our certified intervention specialists work

Many military personnel take up drug and alcohol use as a way to cope with mental illness, which is why so many often develop co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. If you or a loved one is a veteran or active-duty military that struggles with addiction, our Military & Veterans in Recovery program can help.
Relapse Prevention
Our Relapse Prevention Program is designed to support individuals in maintaining long-term sobriety and preventing relapse after completing formal addiction treatment. Recognizing that relapse is often a gradual process, our program focuses on teaching practical strategies for recognizing and managing triggers, practicing self-care, and seeking help when needed. We emphasize the importance of lifestyle changes and honest self-assessment to sustain sobriety. Our program equips patients with the tools needed to navigate the challenges of recovery, ensuring they are prepared to handle temptations and avoid falling back into old habits, ultimately helping them stay committed to their recovery goals for life.
Stabilization
Our Stabilization Program provides crucial support for individuals following a relapse, especially when their current level of care isn't adequate. Tailored for those not needing a full medical detox but requiring intensive assistance, the program offers a safe, nurturing environment to delve into the root causes of relapse and learn further how to handle temptations.
With a focus on relapse prevention and a tailored treatment plan spanning approximately 14 days, patients receive comprehensive care aimed at equipping them with the tools to navigate future challenges and manage cravings effectively. We understand that setbacks are a part of the recovery journey and view relapse as an opportunity for growth rather than failure.
SMART Recovery
SMART Recovery stands for Self-Management and Recovery Training. Our SMART recovery program is a type of addiction treatment program that helps clients develop skills like:
- Motivation
- Emotional control
- Control over drug or alcohol cravings
- Thinking and behavioral management
The goal of our SMART recovery program for addiction is to help patients develop independence in their sobriety as well as physical and psychological control over their urges to use drugs or alcohol. Considering that addiction is a chronic disease, these skills are important for recovering addicts to develop for long-term sobriety.
Telehealth
Telehealth refers to healthcare that’s offered online. Our drug and alcohol treatment has been modified so that it may be offered online to patients who wish to receive care remotely.
Patients receiving telehealth addiction treatment at our facility meet with our specialists several times a week through video chat to receive counseling and discuss their progress. We know that life in addiction recovery can be difficult to balance, which is why we wanted to offer our patients the opportunity to receive care via online so they can balance their busy schedules while progressing in their treatment programs.
Trauma Programming
Our Trauma Informed Care recognizes the deep connection between trauma and substance abuse, emphasizing that untreated trauma can undermine long-term sobriety. Trauma often drives individuals to use drugs or alcohol as a coping mechanism, creating a cycle of dependency and declining mental health. Our program addresses both addiction and trauma through personalized, holistic approaches, utilizing trauma-informed care, evidence-based therapies like CBT and EMDR, and focusing on safety and stabilization. We provide individualized treatment plans, psychoeducation, and supportive therapeutic relationships to help patients understand and manage their trauma. Through individual and gender-specific group therapy sessions, we teach healthier coping strategies and foster a supportive community. Our goal is to help patients recognize the impact of trauma on their addiction and equip them with tools for a brighter future.
