Banyan Treatment Centers is a network of drug and alcohol treatment centers that provides nationwide addiction treatment services and mental health services with all levels of care. ACOA - Support for Children of Alcoholics

Never before in the history of Twelve Step programs has a fellowship brought together such a diverse group of recovering people that includes adult children of alcoholics, codependents, and addicts of various sorts. The program is Adult Children of Alcoholics. The term “adult child” is used to describe adults who grew up in alcoholic or dysfunctional homes and who exhibit identifiable traits that reveal past abuse or neglect. The group includes adults raised in homes with the presence of alcohol or drugs. These ACA members have the trademark presence of abuse, shame, and abandonment found in alcoholic homes.

AL-Anon Family Groups

Many who come to Al-Anon/Alateen are in despair, feeling hopeless, unable to believe that things can ever change. We want our lives to be different, but nothing we have done has brought about change. We all come to Al-Anon because we want and need help. Fortunately, there is hope and light at the end of the tunnel. This support group can guide so many individuals on the right path towards recovery.

In Al-Anon and Alateen, members share their own experiences, strengths, and hope with each other. You will meet others who share your feelings and frustrations, if not your exact situation. We come together to learn a better way of life, to find happiness whether the alcoholic is still drinking or not.

NAMI: National Alliance on Mental Illness

NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness on a daily basis.

What started as a small group of families gathered around a kitchen table in 1979, has blossomed into the nation's leading voice on mental health. Today, they are an association of hundreds of local affiliates, state organizations, and volunteers who work in your community to raise awareness and provide support and education that was not previously available to those in need.

There is a support group available in your community and together we can help our struggling loved ones overcome addiction or mental health illnesses. Finding nationwide addiction treatment services can help your loved one heal. But, families affected by addiction need to find support for their own healing too.
